چکیده

The nuclear modification factor is derived using Tsallis non-extensive statistics in relaxation time approximation. The variation of the nuclear modification factor with transverse momentum for different values of the non-extensive parameter, q, is also observed. The experimental data from RHIC and LHC are analysed in the framework of Tsallis non-extensive statistics in a relaxation time approximation. It is shown that the proposed approach explains the RAA of all particles over a wide range of transverse momentum but does not seem to describe the rise in RAA at very high transverse momenta. 0 On the use of a non - extensive distribution in the solar plasma

We describe the physical motivations why we are urged to look for an ionic equilibrium distribution function slightly different from the Maxwellian to calculate nuclear reaction rates in the solar core plasma answering, at the same time, to a recent paper by Bahcall et al. (astro-ph/0010055). In a recent paper, Bahcall et al. [1] discuss motivations why Salpeter formula for screening of nuclear...

Multifractal Dimensional Dependence Assessment Based on Tsallis Mutual Information

Entropy-based tools are commonly used to describe the dynamics of complex systems. In the last few decades, non-extensive statistics, based on Tsallis entropy, and multifractal techniques have shown to be useful to characterize long-range interaction and scaling behavior. In this paper, an approach based on generalized Tsallis dimensions is used for the formulation of mutual-information-related...

Generalized Evolutionary Algorithm based on Tsallis Statistics

Generalized evolutionary algorithm based on Tsallis canonical distribution is proposed. The algorithm uses Tsallis generalized canonical distribution to weigh the configurations for ‘selection’ instead of Gibbs-Boltzmann distribution. Our simulation results show that for an appropriate choice of non-extensive index that is offered by Tsallis statistics, evolutionary algorithms based on this gen...

Special Issue: Tsallis Entropy

One of the crucial properties of the Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy in the context of classical thermodynamics is extensivity, namely proportionality with the number of elements of the system. The Boltzmann-Gibbs entropy satisfies this prescription if the subsystems are statistically (quasi-) independent, or typically if the correlations within the system are essentially local. In such cases the energ...

Non-extensive statistics and its effects on cosmology

We apply non-extensive statistics, namely Tsallis statistics, on a case of supercritical string cosmology (SSC) as the one studied in [1] and obtain interesting cosmological modifications. At the beginning, we seek for the non-extensive corrections to the dilaton energy density and the off-shell (off-critical) terms and by using the set of dynamical equations of [1], we derive the modified evol...
